I donated a series of Wildflower Mini-Portrait Sessions to Max’s school fundraiser this year. I’m happy to share the first of the five families that had the winning bids. The bluebonnets were gone for the year, but the blanket flowers were out in abundance in the field we visited.

This session marks the sixth year in a row on the site (and even a few years before that as well) that I’ve had the fun of photographing this kid. His mom always has great location suggestions, so per her advice we headed downtown to the Seaholm Power Plant to wander around. There was jumping, dancing and polite laughter at my terrible jokes:
“If I have 9 kittens in one hand and 4 cats in the other hand, what do I have?”
“……”
“Really BIG hands!”

I’ve known this mom for over 20 years – since we first met at The Daily Texan back in the day. For their Spring Family Session, we went exploring at Bull Creek Park – small rocks were thrown, big rocks were climbed, crawfish were found but (sadly ??) snakes were not.

I’ve been lucky to get to photograph the H. Family for the past five years. For this 2017 Spring Portrait Session, we went exploring around the Seaholm Power Plant. The kids were a treat – full of smiles and hugs.

I went out to Wimberley, TX to photograph this lovely family. I’ve known the mom for almost 20 years, and it was such a nice evening to walk around their land, pick wildflowers and feed the fish by the dam.
Jen, Gregory, Helen and new baby sister, Coral played in the creek, threw rocks (mostly Helen) and napped on the homemade quilt (mostly Coral though I’m sure we’d all love a good nap ourselves).
