Meet Allie and John (and their sweet dog, Marley). These two recently got engaged at Red Bud Isle. So it was the obvious choice as the location for their engagement portraits. And let me just say, after so many baby & toddler sessions in a row, how refreshing it was to have:
1) subjects who could stand still
2) and follow directions
It was an honor to capture how smitten these two are with each other. Not to mention, the Redbud trees were in bloom, the weather was cooperative and these two just glowed.
I think this is my favorite outtake – since Marley is thinking, “You all are still kissing?”

Say hello to three-week old Ainsley and her family (previously photographed here).
I was so happy to get to meet (and photograph) her. She came with hair bows and sweet smocked clothes. But seemed happiest swaddled up tight and held in mom or dad’s arms. We even wrangled her big brother into a few pics with her.

Meet Gabe, an almost-two-year old who’s full of energy! When I laced on my running shoes to meet Gabe and his parents at the Katherine Fleischer Park, I hoped to be ready. This charmer climbs, runs laps, and loves to get thrown up, up, up in the air. Oh, wait, what’s that?- a quiet moment of sitting still? Oh, yes, Mom has just pulled out one of his favorite books. And then it’s good to slow down and give your favorite monkey a hug. Gabe, after exploring every inch of that park, I trust you slept well that night.

Meet sweet newborn baby, Wesley, little brother to Scarlett.
Born: 1/21/13
weighing 8 lb. 12 oz.
measuring 20 1/2 inches.
His mom upcycles old books for her Etsy shop, so I knew I wanted to include some of her collection in the photos. Just a few days after he was born, I headed over to turn their nursery into a mini-photo studio. Wesley was calm and relaxed, except when he decided he really did NOT want to wear a certain hat not even one second longer. Sleep tight, future bookworm, sleep tight.
