Styled Shootout – Hosted by @JessicaRockowitz and @ChasingChaneyPortraits

by admin | Jul 16, 2022 | photography, workshop

Family Photo Session Workshop at Commons Ford Ranch

I went to a styled shoot-out hosted by Jessica Rockowitz and Chasing Chaney Photography. What is a styled shoot-out? It’s when one photographer (or more) provide the models, outfits and location and a group of photographers attend to take turns posing and photographing the families.

It’s a collaborative way to try out new techniques and learn from other photographers.

Our location was Commons Ford Ranch – a beautiful park in southwest Austin. The only hurdle was the three-digit heat – but everyone brought lots of fans and water – and we made sure our model families took breaks.

You can see some of my favorites from this workshop in the gallery below. If you’d like to schedule your own photo session, please use the contact form at the bottom on the page.

Please check out some of my favorite images from these portrait sessions below and contact me if you’d like to book your own photo session.

Lumen Room – Extended Family Photo Session

by admin | Jun 23, 2022 | extended family, photography

This extended family contains the bid winner from last year’s Still We Rise online auction #11.

She knew she’d be visiting her Austin family from California and wanted family photos during that vacation. We’d originally planned for an outdoor photo session along the greenbelt, but the weather forecast had different ideas.

With the temperatures at a high of 103 degrees, we met at the cool, air-conditioned photo studio down South, The Lumen Room, instead.

Please enjoy some favorites from their photo session below.
