Main Street, Round Rock – Location Scouting

Main Street, Round Rock – Location Scouting

I took the family location scouting on Main Street in Round Rock, TX. Max was full of ideas for poses – from the serious to the silly. On that same set of gray stairs he kept telling me – “you go here and I’ll be here” – and “now you go there – and I’ll look here” and so on. Makes my mama photographer heart proud. That and when I asked “What time is it? ” and the boys sang out “Golden hour!” as we headed back to the car.

If you’d also like to head downtown in Round Rock and eat ice cream/candy as part of your family photos, let me know 🙂

Batman Goes Downtown – Location Scouting

Batman Goes Downtown – Location Scouting

“Do you know of a good spot where we could take Halloween photos when my daughter dresses up like Wonder Woman this year?”

(so glad you asked)

This past weekend, I took my own superhero downtown to visit three spots: Seaholm Power Plant, Austin City Hall and the Long Center.

If you are wanting your own urban backdrop, I recommend all three.

Mueller Austin – Location Scouting

Mueller Austin – Location Scouting

Trying to decide where to have your family photo session take place? Austin has lots of wonderful urban and natural settings – but if you want one that combines both – try the Mueller Development. There’s a new colorful walkway of umbrellas, loads of brightly painted walls as well as a scenic pond lined by trees.

Let’s Go!

Camp Mabry Pond – Location Scouting

Camp Mabry Pond – Location Scouting

You can live in Austin for over 20 years and still find spots in the city you’ve never been to. Now – I’ve visited the Camp Mabry track – but little did I know until another mom told me – that there’s also a pond to visit there. And as we were pulling up, we got to see some Boy Scouts packing up their tents to head out. The boys were hopeful to find some ducks to share their bread – but ended up eating most of the slices themselves 🙂

And if you go out next Saturday, it’s the Touch-a-Truck event!
