For my latest family portrait session of the summer, we headed downtown to explore the Seaholm Power Plant, Butterfly Bridge and Austin Central Library. There are so many good spots in that two block radius. Even though it was over 100 degrees, this family was a delight – and full of smiles (and we made good use of my portable fan and had lots of water breaks between locations).

Now that holiday cards have gone out, I can share the second part of the Wonder Woman photo session (this mama is smart and gets her Halloween + Christmas photos done in one fell swoop). For their family photos, we enjoyed sunrise at Butler Park with some giggling, dancing and lots of snuggles.

This Houston Family (including sweet dog, Rusty) was a treat to photograph checking out the new Central Library and exploring the Butterfly Bridge. We climbed around inside and out. And finding a garbage truck toy on the reading porch was just the icing on the cake.

This family of five (plus Grandma along to help wrangle kiddos) met me at the Butterfly Bridge next to the new Austin Central Library downtown for their holiday photo session. There was climbing and running and a few snuggles thrown in as well.

This sweet family of four met me at the Butterfly Bridge downtown next to the new Austin Central Library. We looked for turtles in the water, played leap frog around the rocks and had a few staring contests.

Took the boys location scouting at the new Downtown Central Public Library. Between the Butterfly Bridge, the new sculptures and the beautiful landscaping outside – it’s a great location for pictures – and then you go inside – swoon – stairs upon stairs upon stairs – a beautiful reading porch, a rooftop terrace, and lots of stylish places to sit.

This session marks the sixth year in a row on the site (and even a few years before that as well) that I’ve had the fun of photographing this kid. His mom always has great location suggestions, so per her advice we headed downtown to the Seaholm Power Plant to wander around. There was jumping, dancing and polite laughter at my terrible jokes:

“If I have 9 kittens in one hand and 4 cats in the other hand, what do I have?”

“……”

“Really BIG hands!”
