Now that the seasons are changing in Austin, Texas – it’s time to embrace Fall and (slightly) cooler temperatures. I’ve made a list of our favorite activities for September, October and November.

Family Photo Session Workshop at Commons Ford Ranch

I went to a styled shoot-out hosted by Jessica Rockowitz and Chasing Chaney Photography. What is a styled shoot-out? It’s when one photographer (or more) provide the models, outfits and location and a group of photographers attend to take turns posing and photographing the families.

It’s a collaborative way to try out new techniques and learn from other photographers.

Our location was Commons Ford Ranch – a beautiful park in southwest Austin. The only hurdle was the three-digit heat – but everyone brought lots of fans and water – and we made sure our model families took breaks.
