Life at Home with a Newborn | Austin Family Photographer
I first met this family while documenting their newest baby’s C-Section birth.

After the birth, I went to their house a week later to get some family photos at home.

If you live in Austin and are also interested in having a newborn family session at home, check out my tips below.
Tips for At Home Newborn Family Photo Sessions:
- Before your session, I’ll ask if you have any images in mind that you definitely want to try and capture (Pinterest inspiration HERE)
- Also before your session, I’ll let you know how to prepare your house and family before I arrive (For your house: some light tidying/de-cluttering in the rooms we’ll be in; For your family: comfortable clothes that coordinate with each other)
- We can also talk pre-session if there are any activities you want to include for any older kids you have (ex. reading together, playing with toys, etc.)
- When I arrive, before I even take out my camera, I’ll walk around your house to see where the best light is falling. I’ll also help clear away any clutter you may have missed.
- I’ll then put you all close to window light and get some posed and candid shots of you all together and then the baby by themselves.
- FYI: We will be on the newborn’s schedule. So if they need a diaper change or a feeding, we’ll always make time for those needs.
- I’ll also make sure to ask if you want to include any important and sentimental items (ex. certain baby blanket) in your images as well.
